The Sustainable Impact Initiative
Step 1: Donate
We'll take your mismatched, worn-out, or unwanted socks you might have in your sock-drawer!
Step 2: Sort
We'll do the heavy lifting! The Sustainable Sock Club will sort and rank your socks in order of highest recycling value. This way, they can be recycled in the appropriate way
Step 3: Reuse
The socks that are of sufficient quality are reused and donated to charity partners in Ontario, who will turn the socks into recycled fibres and give them a new life as industrial textiles.
Step 4: Redeem
Once your socks are sorted, The Sustainable Sock Club will give you 10% off your next order! A confirmation of your donation and coupon code will be sent to your email shortly after the sorting is completed.
Why Recycle Textiles?
SAVE ENERGY
In Canada alone , we produce a hefty 9.5 million tonnes of textile wastage every year. By donating your socks, the materials can be converted into new products, reducing the need to consume natural resources which will help to protect natural habitats for the future.
CONSERVE OUR PRECIOUS NATURAL RESOURCES
Recycling reduces the need for extracting, refining and processing raw materials all of which create air and water pollution. As recycling saves energy, it also reduces gas emissions which helps to tackle climate change, the world largest problem.
REDUCE LANDFILLS
When we recycle socks, the materials are reprocessed into new industrial products. As a result, the amount of textiles sent to landfill sites decreases, reducing the emissions of methane.
Textile Recycling Partners

If you're minimizing your wardrobe or want to do a deep spring clean, donating your unneeded clothes is sustainable and charitable. Each donation plays a vital part in helping to support the various programs & services each organization offers while also keeping textiles out of our landfills! Our partners are happy to take your unwanted textiles and in order to provide a new life for them!
